The Book BarnFriends of the Rappahannock County Library
Everything on these shelves was donated by someone in this county. Everything it sells for goes straight back into the library. In between, a handful of volunteers sort, price, and shelve it - which is why we are open four hours a week instead of forty.

What's in there
Fiction, history, art, classics, biography, gardening, cookery, and a well-used children's section. Audiobooks, music CDs, and DVDs. Jigsaw puzzles. And a rack of historic Rappahannock County maps, which people drive a fair distance for.
Because the stock is whatever the county brings us, the Barn has a habit of turning up things it has no business having. A boxed Chronicles of Narnia from 1956. A 1952 edition of Boy Scout Games. A month-by-month nature guide printed in 1926. A boxed set of the Little House books from 1953. We price those reasonably too. That is sort of the point.
Sales
We run themed half-price sales through the year - a history table, a gardening table, whatever has piled up. Hardbacks and paperbacks both go to a couple of dollars or less. Watch Facebook, or just come in and ask.
